Box Office Report: Padmaavat sets ticket counters on FIRE!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, amidst all the screening restrictions and protests, is proving to be an unstoppable force at the Indian ticket counters and the global box office at large.

While it was always our instinct that this Bhansali directorial was well on its way to becoming the biggest success story for the man till date, we have a yet another proof about the fact that the film is on a record-breaking spree and is not slowing down anytime soon.

As per the recently released data by IMAX India, the film has collected a staggering amount of approximately $461,000 (Approximately 3 crores) in its opening weekend across 12 of its theatres in India, which averages to about $38,400 (roughly 25 lakhs) per outlet.

But, the story doesn’t end here. In the 42 IMAX theatres that are screening the epic drama outside the Indian market, the movie grossed approximately $839,000 in its opening weekend, which means that every single outlet minted close to $20,000 due to the film.

Isn’t that just simply unbelievable?
