BHARAT: Did Salman Khan choose Katrina over Jacqueline?

Salman Khan is all set to be joined by Katrina Kaif for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat in Malta. You all know how Priyanka Chopra walked out of the film at the last moment leaving the entire crew huffed and puffed. Soon, the Desi Girl was replaced by Kaif. However, there’s a third angle to the story that not many people are aware of. Hushed whispers in the grapevine suggest that Salman’s Race 3 and Kick’s co-star Jacqueline Fernandez also lobbied for the lead role of the actress.

A source said, “The minute Jacqueline heard about Priyanka Chopra’s ouster from Bharat, she got into action. Jacqueline sent Salman and the director Ali Abbas Zafar feelers through mutual friends. When that didn’t work, she directly approached Salman with her very generous offer to step into the void.” But what happened thereafter? The source adds, “I think Salman Khan ignored Jacqueline’s request. It was too soon after the unexpected debacle of Race 3 . I think he needed a break from that pairing. And besides, Salman’s first choice for Bharat was Katrina Kaif. It was only on Priyanka’s insistence that he changed his plans. Now when Priyanka was out, why would he go to anyone else?”
