Alia Bhatt says NO to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Karan Johar?
Alia Bhatt is one of the most dependable actors we have in the movie business currently, with an enviable box-office clout that makes her one of the most commercially successful stars as well. So it isn’t surprising that the biggest of filmmakers are wanting to cannibalize her stardom and acting prowess to meet their own ends. So much so that her daddy dearest Mahesh Bhatt is all set to return to direction after a two-decade hiatus to helm Sadak 2.
Not only that, she was also the first choice of Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his next directorial. But unfortunately, since all her dates were with her mentor Karan Johar, who directs her for the second time in Takht, Bhatt had to politely decline the offer. A source says, “As much as Alia would love to be a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine — and who wouldn’t want to work with the master creator? — her first priority is Karan Johar whom she considers a father figure. The minute Karan initiated the Kalank project, Alia abandoned all plans to work with Bhansali, at least for now.”
