Alia Bhatt plays a spy in Karan Johar’s next?

Alia Bhatt is clearly Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year, and she has proven yet again with all the love that her character has received in Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.

If reports are to be believed, Karan Johar will put his favourite protégé through a new gauntlet challenges in his next production where he wishes to display the girl-next-door Bhatt Jr. as fearless spy in an espionage thriller which will be helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the one who has made waves at the box office with her latest realistic thriller Talvar.

The Meghna Gulzar project will be based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat which will put Alia into the shoes of a Kashmiri simpleton turned spy from the 70’s who is hitched to a Pakistani army officer.

Alia as of now is on a much-deserved vacation and the images from it are surely making us jealous as we are killing our days in our cubicles. Given that her next opposite Ranbir Kapoor starrer Dragon will not go on floors any time before September, Alia has a lot of free time to chill and explore new projects, and in turn beginning to work on her spy avatar for the Meghna Gulzar project which is said to hit the floors this July.
