Ali Fazal matches steps with Sanjay Dutt in a special song for Prassthanam!
Actor Ali Fazal has all the reasons to celebrate with the massive success of his latest video on demand series Mirzapur on Amazon Prime. Ali received an impeccable response from the critics and audiences on his performance as a dreaded gangster, Guddu Pandey in the lawless land of Mirzapur. Post success of the series, Ali is currently continuing the shoot for his next, family drama film Prassthanam alongside Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala. The film is a remake of a cult hit from Telugu which had director Deva Katta director the film, the same director who’s helming Hindi remake too. Recently, Ali concluded shooting for a song sequence for Prassthanam in Mumbai with none other than Sanju Baba.
Ali has always expressed that Sanjay Dutt is somebody who he has grown up watching and has had a great admiration for him as an actor. Funnily, on sets of Mirzapur, Ali was even addressed as Sanju baba owing to his massive physical transformation and the change in his physical appearance and walking style. So when Ali shot this special celebration song for the film, Ali was glad about the opportunity to match steps with Sanjay in this song sequence. Ali has been a fan of Sanjay Dutt’s dance style and would even try aping it during his young days in school. The Khalnayak title song being his favourite, he never imagined he would be matching up steps in front of the camera with his actor idol in reality.
Speaking about it, Ali said, “My favourite song of Sanjay Dutt has been Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main from the film, Khalnaayak. I have aped his steps in school and college, but little did I know that I would get a chance to match steps with him for real, someday”.
