Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opens up on facing body-shaming
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is gearing up for the release of her next film, Fanney Khan, which tackles the issue of body-shaming. She’s although playing the role of a diva, the actress opened up on being a victim of the same in real life. The actress became a proud mother in November 2011, and it’s very normal and very real for any woman to gain weight post-pregnancy. Alas, some illiterate and uneducated and nasty trolls would never understand this. And Aishwarya also had to face such insensitive people.
Talking about it in a recent interview, she said, “It’s not just been post motherhood. Contextually, post motherhood, you are referring to specifically body shaming. Because you are looking at it from that aspect of the body frame changing. I am talking about the reason I was able to handle it because I have faced judgement for so long.” Abhishek Bachchan spoke about it too in one of his interviews, “When she became a mother, her career took a backseat. Today, she does everything for Aaradhya. She is a supermom. Soon after Aaradhya was born, the media went at her about her weight gain. Nasty things were written, which really upset me.”
C’mon trolls, get a life! Fanney Khan is all set to release on August 3.
