Aishwarya Rai Bachchan backs the MeToo movement, refers to her relation with Salman!
Given how a majority of the Bollywood celebrities have spoken about the MeToo Movement and how a woman’s safety is in serious jeopardy, how could Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stay behind? In a recent interview, the actor, speaking about this, stated, “I have always spoken out. I spoke in the past, I am speaking now, and I will continue to speak. Social media has enabled the conversation and any woman who comes from any part of the world today has a voice that will be heard. When it comes to helping women find their voice, find the strength, feel confident about sharing their stories, it’s not about the current time. This has been going on since a lot of time and I am glad it has found a certain momentum today.”
If you remember, Aishwarya was very vocal about her volatile relationship with Salman Khan and how his insecurities and unpredictably violent behavior led to the end of the romantic interlude. In 2002, when she finally called it quits, she blasted Khan in an interview and unabashedly stated, “After we broke up, he (Salman) would call me and talk rubbish. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And, I would go to work as if nothing had happened.”
However, the actor denied all the allegations.
