After Gold and Brahmastra, Mouni Roy to work with Rajkummar Rao?
Mouni Roy is clearly on a ROLL! The Naagin actress is all set to make her debut in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold and is already working on two highly anticipated films of the year 2019, namely Brahmastra and John Abraham’s R.A.W on the side.
And now, if an online report is to be believed, Roy has already signed yet another film, which is reportedly titled Made In China and has Rajkummar Rao as its male lead!
Yes, you read that right! As per the very report, the Naagin star will be paired with the Omerta star in which she will play a Mumbai-based girl who gets married to Rao’s character of a Gujarati businessman and then eventually moves to Gujarat with him. And then, a sudden turn of events gives the two an opportunity to move to China!
A source close to the affair stated that, “She’s a simple housewife, living in a lower-middle-class locality, feisty and crazy about Raj. She’s by his side through his struggle and pushes him to go to China when the opportunity calls. Raj, who wants to give her the best, crosses the Great Wall hoping to become a successful entrepreneur. It’s the couple’s fascinating journey.”
It is being reported that Made In China will be produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Mikhil Musale.
Speaking about the same, Dinesh Vijan was quoted saying that, “We wanted someone who’d connect with the heartland and Mouni, a typical Indian beauty, has a huge fan following. She has a strong personality but gentle eyes and is a good dancer which is essential for the role as her character has a passion for classical Indian dance having learnt it. She has started working on her Gujarati dialect. Raj will start prep soon and the chameleon he is, I’m sure he’ll quickly get into character.”
