After Akshay Kumar, Rohit Shetty to make a cop film with Salman Khan?
Salman Khan, who became one of the most lovable cops of Bollywood with his antics and larger-than-life persona in films like Wanted and Dabangg, may return with another cop-driven hardcore masala potboiler. No, we aren’t talking about Dabangg 3, but a possible union with the director known for his massive and mammoth movies, Rohit Shetty. If all goes well, after wrapping up Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, which will be shot from start to finish, the director plans to make his fifth cop-drama with Khan. And Khan’s very close friend, Sajid Nadiadwala, may come on board as the producer.
A source says, “Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to not just discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead but also on the content. Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh aka DEVIL from Kick, Sajid’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materializes as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit’s film.”
But before Bhai gives his nod to the director, he has quite a few films lined-up in his kitty, one of them being Nadiadwala’s own, Kick 2, which is slated for a Christmas 2019 release. So we just have to wait till 2020 to see the union of Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty!
