Aditi Rao Hydari and Ranveer Singh have quite a history together!
Aditi Rao Hydari is in quite the sweet-spot in terms of her career, as she is being simultaneously directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mani Ratnam, two of the most celebrated filmmakers in Indian Cinema.
An ambitious Aditi Rao Hydari had come to the vast city of Mumbai. She was this lost waif who was trying to find her way around in the fast-paced life of the city. Her best friend advised her to make a wish list of directors she would like to work with. She wrote down three names that just jumped to the front of her head whenever she thought of Bollywood. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mani Ratnam and Vishal Bhardwaj. Seems like the forces of nature have worked well in her favor. Now all that she is waiting for is a call from Vishal Bhardwaj.
She Sighs “Working with Mani Sir and Sanjay Sir is every actor’s dream come true. When I think of how much I’ve learned from them, my eyes well up.”
“What has happened is very distressing. Sanjay Sir is a true artiste and a responsible one at that. He would never do anything to hurt anyone’s sentiments. It is sad that instead of granting an artiste of his caliber, the freedom to fly, some try to clip his wings,” says Aditi, who is at home, waiting for the chaos around Padmavati to resolve.
On the topic of her co-star Ranveer Singh, she talks about the history that they share: “Do you know even before Padmavati, Ranveer and I worked together? It was not a movie but a skit on Bollywood that Ranveer and I enacted, Shaad Ali directed and Farah Khan choreographed for Paris’s Nuit Blanche Festival in 2008. Ranveer hasn’t changed one bit. He is still an Energizer bunny, a ball of fire. He says I used to have chubby cheeks back then. He is right. I did have chubby cheeks. But he hasn’t changed one bit.”
As of her other projects in Bollywood, she will be playing Sanjay Dutt’s daughter in Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi, which is to be directed by Omung Kumar.
As of her Tamil project with Director Mani Ratnam, Kaatru Veliyidai, it’s already garnering much attention for its unique lead pair – Aditi and Tamil actor Karthi. One of the songs from the film, Azhagiye, has already made it to the top of their fan’s favorite list. The song has a lot to offer, ranging from A R Rehman’s peppy composition, picturesque locations to Aditi’s jaw-dropping beauty. The excitement for the Tamil film is beyond limits, thanks to Azhagiye. April 7th is the release date for this movie.
You’re going places, Aditi. Keep it up!
