2.0: Rajinikanth & Akshay Kumar’s magnum opus has already earned 370 crores!
It’s no news that Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 is now officially the most expensive Indian film of all time. And when your film’s budget happens to be as staggering as 543 crores, you have to work twice as hard on the distribution and exhibition. That’s exactly what the team of this magnum opus plans to do. Keeping all the factors in mind, the film has already recovered 370 crores.
LYCA productions has been very careful as far as the rights of 2.0 are concerned. The digital and satellite rights of this Sci-Fi adventure have been sold at a historic price that includes all the three versions. The distribution rights of some of the major territories have been sold to their individual distributors, and LYCA has retained the same for the Tamil Nadu and overseas regions. This is the breakdown of the film:-
Satellite Rights: Rs 120 crore (All Versions)
Digital Rights: Rs 60 crore (All Versions)
North Belt Rights: Rs 80 crore (Advance Basis)
Andhra Pradesh/Telangana Rights: Rs 70 crore
Karnataka Rights: Rs 25 crore
Kerala Rights: Rs 15 crore
Total: Rs 370 crore
This means the film would need only 173 crores at the box-office to break-even. And given the craze and the buzz it has generated, expect some historic numbers!
