2.0: Rajinikanth & Akshay Kumar’s film gets more EXPENSIVE!
It’s really becoming difficult to write about Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 now! We have written umpteen times that the film was supposed to release on Diwali 2017, and was made at a massive budget of 350 crores. But that’s in the past, as we write this currently, the film has now reached to a jaw-dropping budget of 500 crores. We are pretty sure you repeated that figure!
Yes, S. Shankar, the visionary and gifted filmmaker, who made Robot as well, has apparently added an extra 100 crore to the film’s already massive budget to work on the VFX. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure 2.0 is an once-in-a-lifetime cinematic experience for the audiences. And unlike most of the Hindi films, that are shot in 2D and later converted into 3D; the film has been shot with 3D cameras, which makes it a first for an Indian film.
Reports also suggest the makers are planning to release this sci-fi adventure during the 2019 Republic Day weekend, and 2.0 may clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, which arrives on the 25th of January, 2019.
