Akshay Kumar hasn’t faced commercial failure since 2016. Right from Airlift to Gold, all his films have struck gold at the box-office. His latest and biggest film yet, 2.0, may turn out to be his biggest hit of all time. Fans had monstrous expectations and critics were looking forward to this giant of a film, but who would’ve thought Kumar would end up defeating Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan at the box-office on the opening day itself?
The feat Kumar has managed is anything but ordinary, as he has become the first Bollywood actor to enter the 100-crore club worldwide on Day 1 only! 2.0 had the widest release for an Indian film and opened in over 10,000 screens across the globe. Given it released in three languages, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, and had Rajinikanth as the driving force, massive numbers were expected. The magnum opus grossed over 85 crores in the country and approx. 35 crores overseas, bringing its worldwide total to a jaw-dropping 115 crores. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted the collections on his Twitter timeline, have a look right here:-
