Arshad Warsi: I wish ‘Munnabhai Chale Amerika’ was made

When we think of Arshad Warsi, the first thing that comes to our mind is Circuit from ‘Munnabhai’  franchise. He entertained us with his comic timing in films like ‘Munnabhai MBBS’  and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. We even got to see the teaser of the third instalment of the film, ‘Munnabhai Chale Amerika’  . But, the film was not made due to several reasons.

In an interaction with a daily, Arshad was asked about the status of ‘Munnabhai 3’, he said, “I think it’s going to be made after Raju finishes the Sanjay Dutt biopic. The idea of the script is ready, and Raju has mentioned the film’s thought to me. I love it. I wish ‘Munna Bhai Chale Amerika’ was made. It had a brilliant concept. But yes, ‘Munnabhai 3’ will be made.”

Arshad is seen in lots of sequels and he considers himself as the king of sequels. He added, “I am the king of sequels. Hadh hi ho gayi hain . I think all of them are coming out next year. ‘Aankhen’ (2002) isn’t even my franchise, but I am also doing that. Then, there’s ‘Golmaal 4’, ‘Dhamaal 3’ and ‘Munnabhai 3’, talks for the sequal of ‘Ishqiya’ are also on. I don’t know how all of them will happen next year, but I am sure they will happen.”

There were several rumours of Arshad turning into a director and making a film with  Amitabh Bachchan. He denied all these reports stating, “I have never said I am directing Amitji. But it’s every director’s desire to work with him. So, of course, I would like to direct him. But I don’t even have a film right now, so, what will I direct? However, I have written a couple of scripts. I am looking for a big producer to put in the money (laughs).”
