The actor, who always nails under the direction and diction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, gave another spectacular performance in the form of the evil and ruthless Alauddin Khilji. And in many potions in the film, we could sense the performer is at home, completely at ease and effortlessness.

Ranbir Kapoor- Sanju 

Attempting to portray a figure in a biopic is always a tricky territory, but to essay someone as loved, admired but equally controversial as Sanjay Dutt can be a daunting task. That’s what Ranbir Kapoor battled in this year’s Sanju.  Although the film was panned for its misguided and misinformed portrayal of the actor’s life, even the critics adored Kapoor as Dutt. And he genuinely put up an impressive act, much beyond mere mimicry and imitation.

Ayushmann Khurrana- AndhaDhun

The man of the the year, Ayushmann Khurrana, saw his first release in the form of Sriram Raghavan’s pulpy thriller, AndhaDhun. Blending the narrative of this mystery with noir and humor, Raghavan gave Khurrana a role of a lifetime and the actor delivered the performance of a lifetime. Akshay Kumar- 2.0

He has gradually shifted his oeuvre from action to comedy to now socially-driven dramas. Shankar’s 2.0 can be described as a socially-driven Sci-Fi adventure. And Kumar, despite buried under some audacious and heavy prosthetic, which includes a bundle of mobile phones, oozed menace and mourn into his character, and that’s a combination we don’t see often in our movies. This is Akshay Kumar like never before, and maybe never again!!!
