Here’s why Suniel Shetty DITCHED JP Dutta’s Paltan!

Suniel Shetty and Paltan director JP Dutta have had a long successful association over the years since they have given us some very memorable films like Border, LOC Kargil and Refugee. It is probably because of his on-point portrayal of an army personnel in these films that we think of Suniel as the go-to guy to play an army man.

So, given that Paltan also has the same backdrop, we wondered: WHY isn’t Suniel a part of this one? Well, let our Khabri Keeda spill the beans on that for you.

As per KK, Suniel was indeed the top choice for the Umrao Jaan director and when Dutta approached Shetty to be a part of the film, he readily said yes since the amount of trust that Suniel had on the celebrated director. But, when Suniel showed up on the set and went through his character, he realised that it was in NO WAY as meaty as his parts in his previous films with the director. So, naturally, the disappointed actor walked out in no time.

Fast forward to today, where the same character has now been given to Jackie Shroff, who ultimately landed the part and became a part of Paltan’s Paltan. (pun intended)

So, given that now Suniel probably feels betrayed after the episode, does that mean that Dutta has accidentally ruined his relationship with the actor? Does that mean that the two might NEVER work again?

We guess that only time can answer that, unless Shetty gives out a statement on the same.
