Here’s why Ileana D’cruz is angry with Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu makers

After a long of speculation the makers of upcoming Shahid Kapoor film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu finally announced the leading lady of their film. Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam have been finalized for the film. But according to our Khabri Keeda, the makers of the film had promised Ileana D’cruz to cast opposite Shahid Kapoor in the film.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is produced by KriArj Entertainment. Illeana has previously worked with KriArj in Rustom and hence the actress was hoping to be part of even this project. Apparently, the makers till the last moment had even promised Ileana the film but in the end, they confirmed Shraddha Kapoor as the leading lady of the film.

Shraddha Kapoor in Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be playing a North Indian character whose life serves as the catalyst for the story.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a lighthearted but impactful social drama that every Indian citizen will relate to. The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogues are being written by Garima and Siddharth and the concept is by Vipul Rawal. The movie will be shot across Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie, and Nainital.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is scheduled to release nationwide on August 31st, 2018.
