Fry Day, the film that marks the nth comeback of Govinda, was all set to release on the 11th of May, 2018. However, the makers didn’t want to clash with Alia Bhatt’s Raazi as they wanted more screens for the film. They pushed the film to the 25th of May but realized that weekend was even more crowded. Bhavesh Joshi, Bucket List, Bioscopewala and Parmanu, all were booked for that day, so it wasn’t a clever idea to come out with the film on the 25th.
Now, according to sources, Fry Day will release in the last week of June, which happens to be the release of Sanju as well. However, it’s still not clear whether it’ll release at that time also or not. Also starring Varun Sharma, the film is directed by Abhishek Dogra, who made Dolly Ki Doli in 2015.
Given Govinda’s iconic comic timing and Varun Sharma’s fine understanding of the comedy genre as well, this should be a combination to look out for. All we have to do is wait for the makers to announce a new release date.
