Eeshwar Nivas to remake 1965’s Gumnaam!
BREAKING: Here’s an another classic which will be seeing in theatres soon!
Manoj Kumar’s 1965 horror flick Gumnaam was a cult hit at that time if we were to speak modestly about it. Even today, more than half a century after its release, people still remember the exemplary performances were put up by the likes of Manoj Kumar and Helen and the stellar storytelling capabilities of director Raja Nawathe.
Our Khabri Keeda says that this classic has piqued the interest of Eeshwar Nivas, who has decided to remake this film for this millennial to appreciate the classic in a whole new light.
Eeshwar Niwas is the national award-winning director who is known for delivering successful films such as Shool (1999), Bardaasht (2004), De Taali (2008) and Total Siyaapa (2014). He was awarded the National award for best screenplay for Shool in the year 2000.
Gumnaam, on the other hand, had bagged the Filmfare Award for best Art Direction among many others.
It will be interesting to see this classic come back to life and hopefully recreate the magic it had back then.
