Dharma shelves Fawad-Katrina starrer, ‘Raat Baaki’?

We all heard of Dharma Productions announcing their next ‘Raat Baaki’ where Fawad and Katrina would play the lead. The movie was pitched to be a musical winter romance which to us seemed where similar to ‘Fitoor’. We wondered back in August, when the announcement was made, as to why anyone would re-make a ‘Fitoor’, since it bombed at the B.O. But Karan Johar loves the concept of romance in snow and he couldn’t control himself from making ‘Raat Baaki’. Fawad and Katrina have already been signed for the movie and Kjo was really excited to have Fawad in his flick again. This duo hasn’t starred together in any movie before this and even we were looking forward to watching their onscreen chemistry. Now we hear that Dharma Productions is really worried about going ahead with this movie since MNS has issued a warning to all Pakistani stars working in Maharashtra. Due to the recent attacks in Uri, Kashmir, 19 Indian forces lost their lives and the country has been protesting against all Pakistani activity ever since. After the political controversy created around Pakistani stars, an insider tells us that Dharma Productions has decided to shelve ‘Raat Baaki’. Even Kjo who seemed very excited about the movie has decided to shelve it. This comes as a shocker for everyone who is part of the project. A source close to Dharma confirms, “Yes, Dharma Productions has decided to shelve the movie. The makers do not wish to challenge any political parties and want to refrain from controversies.”

Looks like we will have to wait till all the smoke has settled before we get to watch Fawad and Katrina in action!
