Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 beats Aamir’s 3 idiots, SRK’s Dilwale & Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo!

Akshay Kumar, with his latest release 2.0, has not only delivered the biggest hit of his career domestically, but also smashed multiple records in the global circuit. As we reported yesterday, the Sci-Fi adventure drama has raked in over 5oo crores at the box-office worldwide and that too in just a week. Given there’s no major competition til Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, it is expected to touch the 200-crore mark in India.

And with this Shankar directorial, Kumar has been able to destroy the records created by SRK, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. How? You may ask! Well, Aamir’s 3 idiots, SRK’s Dilwale and Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, that made 395 crores, 390 crores and 398 crores respectively, have been left far behind this giant of a film, that comfortably rests on a monstrous 500 crores, as mentioned above.

Indian Cinema needs more event films like this, we need to celebrate our scale and ambitions and explore and exploit it more often!
