Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal lands in a legal trouble!
Akshay Kumar, who’s all set to star in R. Balki’s next production, Mission Mangal, may not be happy after hearing this news. Even before the film has begun shoot, it has landed in a legal soup. A U.S based filmmaker, Radha Bharadwaj, has filed a petition requesting the Court to halt the production and release of this space drama. She has contended that the original screenplay of the story about Mission Mangalyaan Mission of 2014 is owned by her.
She shared the same with ace photographer and photographer Atul Kasbekar in 2016. She has also stated that Vidya Balan was narrated the idea and now she was doing another film with the same premise. In an interview recently, she stated, “I’ll bet the details of the origin of this project were not known to Akshay Kumar, Fox Star or its US partners. But now that they know it, I ask them to act honorably. I have documentation going back to 2014 on my efforts to bring this story to screen.”
She has blamed the entire team of unethically sabotaging her project whose script has been registered with the US Copyright Office for the American and Indian market. Anybody from the film’s team is yet to revert on the matter. Also staring Sharman Joshi, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha, the film is slated to release on August 15, 2019!
