CONFIRMED! Priyanka Chopra hops on to the Sahir Ludhianvi Biopic

After a multitude of speculations, it is now confirmed that Priyanka Chopra will make her comeback in Bollywood as the female lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much talked about film, based on famous Indian poet and lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, which will be titled Gustakhiyan.

Over the past few months, apart from PeeCee, a lot of other eminent names such as Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut were being rumoured to play the part of Ludhianvi’s lover, Amrita Pritam, but ultimately the role has finally landed in Priyanka’s lap.

As per reports, the story of the movie will be based on the failed love affair of Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam. The film will go on floors once Sanjay Leela Bhansali calls it a wrap on Padmavati.

Just like how there were rumours around the female lead, there were a lot of speculations around the person who will play the male lead. Initially, we had reported that Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to play the role of Ludhianvi, but walked out due to his displeasure with his then co-star, Kangana Ranaut, who also walked out of the film weeks after. The latest name which is reported to be playing Sahir’s role is Abhishek Bachchan.
