Has Shah Rukh Khan lost the X-Factor?

Shah Rukh Khan, the king of romance was also known as the Baadshah of Bollywood. From 1992-2017, King Khan portrayed different roles. He delivered Blockbuster movies one after the other. The evergreen film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge ran for a record of 1009 weeks un-interrupted at the Maratha Mandir cinema in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh delivered some fantastic hits such as Devdas, Swades, Chak De! India, Don and many more to name. But in the recent times, seems like Shah Rukh Khan has lost his charm at the box office and even over his fans.

Let’s start with Dilwale which released in 2015. The film was the most awaited film of that year as it had the magical pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol back on the screen after a gap of five years. The trailer and the songs promised a lot but the movie failed at the box office. The film suffered a huge loss as it clashed with Bajirao Mastani. Dilwale managed to collect only Rs.148 crores whereas Bajirao Mastani collected Rs.184 crores at the box office.

Then came the much-awaited FAN. Made on a budget of Rs.105 crores, the film only managed to collect only Rs.85 crores. FAN turned to be a bigger disappointment for the audience as well as the critics.

After FAN, SRK came up with the much anticipated Raees in 2017. The film was delayed for quite some time and it finally hit the screens along with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. Though Raees performed better than Kaabil, it managed to collect Rs.139 crores at the box office. Like FAN, even Raees turned out to be a huge loss for the distributors.

His next release for 2017 was Jab Harry Met Sejal. Like his recent movies, even JHMS turned out to be a huge fail at the box office. The film received mixed reviews from the critics but the film could only collect Rs.15.25 crores on its opening day. Currently, the film stands the total collection of Rs. 52.90* crores.

Compared to the films done by the Aamir and Salman, Shah Rukh‘s movies do not even stand in the top five top Grosser’s of all time. Check out the list:

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – Rs.534.00* Crores

Baahubali: The Beginning – Rs. 420.00 Crores

Dangal – Rs. 388.00 Crores

PK – Rs. 339.50 Crores

Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs. 320.34 Crores.

As Shah Rukh Khan says in Raees ‘Baniye ka Dimaag aur Miyanbhai ki Daring’ we just hope he uses the same logic even in his movies.

Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in the untitled Dwarf Movie
