Bollywood’s Nawab Saif Ali Khan is known to do a lot of unconventional roles. This man has made a place for himself in our minds through films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Hum Saath Saath Hai and even the recent lot of films that he had done like Go Goa Gone, Chef and the soon to be released films like Kaakakandi and Baazaar.
But, did you know that he once had a chance to do a yet another iconic role which was eventually done by Salman Khan?
We got our hands on a very old interview where he deemed himself to be a nutcase since he rejected Karan Johar’s directorial debut “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”
Yes, you read that right! As per the interview, the script of the 90’s classic was initially given to Saif Ali Khan, since he was the first choice for the role of Aman Mehra, which eventually landed in Salman’s lap (and also the Filmfare Award for playing the best supporting actor for that role. Ouch!)
His exact words were as follows, “I have only one regret and that’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’… which I rejected. Really, I must have been a nutcase then.”
Some regrets always stay forever, don’t they Saif?
