Unlike the rumors that suggested Shah Rukh Khan was in Dubai completing the shoot for ‘Raees’ with his Pakistani co-star, Mahira Khan. The Badshah of Bollywood was in fact in the city making peace with MNS chief, Raj Thackery.
Yes, Shah Rukh met Thackery and the meeting lasted for an entire hour. While Raj stayed clear on his statement of Banning Pakistani artists in India, SRK promised him that he will never collaborate with Pakistani artists in future and has no plans to get Mahira back in India for the promotions of the film. In fact Shah Rukh went ahead and assured Raj Thackrey that he will never associate with Pakistani artists and that this will be his last film with an off-border artists.
Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ suffered due to the ban on Pakistani artists which starred Fawad Khan, a Pakistani artist himself. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tried to minimize this crisis. However, he received the backlash for coming under the pressure of Thackery. Thackeray too received flak for his suggestion that Hindi filmmakers who have hired Pakistani actors or technicians in recent times make a hefty contribution of 5 crore each as a penalty.
We must say SRK has some ways to do damage control!
