Kangana was offered the same role that Deepika is doing in Majid Majidi’s next

Deepika Padukone will be next seen in Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds with Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Kattar who will be making his debut with the film. Ishaan will be portraying the role of Deepika’s brother in the film.

But little did we know that the role that Deepika is playing was first offered to Kangana Ranaut. Reports suggest that Kangana met with the director and discussed the role. She later opted out of the film as she felt that the role of the sister was not powerful enough. The ‘Queen’ actress suggested that the script should be reworked to make her role prominent which was declined by the director of the film.

Majidi in a recent interview with a leading tabloid spoke about his movie and said, “Filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, whose work I adore, have represented India’s culture, rich heritage and the lives of common people to a global audience. These visions and images have stayed in my mind for years and cajoled me to make a film in India. Finally, I’m in Mumbai with a lovely team to narrate a story woven around the lives of common people.”

He also opened up about Ishaan, his lead hero, “Ishaan is a wonderful boy. He is extremely talented and I feel, he will have a bright future in the film industry.”

Shahid too was delighted by this as he said, “I don’t think Ishaan could have asked for a better debut. Majidi is one of the best directors of the world and I am really happy Ishaan is working with him.”
