Since the first look, there has been a lot of buzz around Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2. The cast, right from Varun to Taapsee Pannu, has made us really impatient for its release on September 29. We thought that ever since the Sanskaari Pahlaj Nihalani had been sacked as the chairperson of the CBFC, things will begin to take a turn for the better. Guess we were wrong.
Just a few days ago, the film had been allegedly passed with a UA certificate with 5 verbal cuts. Now, the film is facing a yet other problem.
As it turns out, Judwaa 2 has Dhawan Jr. making passing references to many of his close friends, including his co-star-cum-bestie Alia Bhatt. Given the references made, the CBFC has ordered to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to be able to do that.
A source close to the affair reveals, “They wanted an NOC from Alia before she can be mentioned in Judwaa 2. Nadiadwala and Dhawan argued that Alia was his buddy and therefore it wasn’t going to be a problem. But the CBFC was adamant. Friend or foe, you have to get an NOC from all living persons who are mentioned in the film.”
Apart from that, Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt and veteran actress Poonam Dhillon have also been reportedly mentioned in the film. So, the CBFC has asked for their approval as well!
Well, looks like rules are rules and can’t be bent for anybody.
We wonder what Alia and others would have to say about this.
