The IIFA hosts get SLAMMED on Twitter!
We informed you all yesterday about how the three hosts of IIFA Awards 2017, Varun Dhawan, Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar ended up chanting “Nepotism Rocks….. Nepotism Rocks” on the grand stage.
Here’s how that dialogue went:
When Varun Dhawan joined the two hosts on the stage to receive his award for the best comic role in Dishoom. Saif sparked the fire by joking how Varun made it big in Bollywood due to his father.
Saif said “You are here because of your papa,”
To which Varun said, “And you’re here because of your mummy (veteran actress Sharmila Tagore).”
Then Karan added, “I am here because of my papa (late filmmaker Yash Johar).”
Then, they all began chanting in unison: “Nepotism Rocks!”
As was expected, shortly after, Twitter was buzzing with criticisms for this juvenile act of theirs, where the users said as to how uncool it was for them to say so in the absence of Kangana Ranaut, the one who actually started the controversy on the infamous couch!
Amongst those who criticized the trio, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi and AIB co-founder Tanmay Bhatt also shared their opinions.
Abhishek Singhvi tweeted “I’d like to see the likes of Karan Johar, Saif and Varun Dhawan try their nepotism humor when Kangana is in their presence. IIFA.”
Tanmay Bhatt said: “I just realized they legit yelled Nepotism Rocks at the end of it and I cannot stop face palming.”
One user raised a very valid point by saying “How is it an “insult” to Kangana If anything it’s a crass/tacky display of how shamelessly nepotistic Bollywood is”
Another user said “Last night Karan Johar was shamelessly chanting nepotism rocks. So it means he admits that he has no talent and he’s just a piece of s**t.”
Well well well, seems like the trio had it coming for their disappointing act.
We wonder what they will have to say about it!
