HOT SCOOP: Aishwarya-Abhishek to star in Abhimaan Remake?

Recently Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan‘s iconic film Abhimaan completed 44 years. Ever since then there were rumours going rounds that the iconic film will have a remake starring none other than Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role. On the 44th anniversary, Amitabh Bachchan even tweeted about Abhimaan and said he still does not know who knows the right of the film.

However, to everyone’s surprise, Abhishek and Aishwarya have refused to be part of the project. In a Facebook Live interaction when Abhishek was asked about the same by a fan he said “Abhimaan is a very extraordinary movie. From all the movies that my mom and dad have done, this one is my favorite but to make a remake out of it will be very difficult.”

He further added saying, “In between, there was some talk that a remake of the movie should be made with Aishwarya and I. But we both thought that it was such a good movie, so we shouldn’t make a remake. Certain films you should just leave them alone, you can’t remake them. There is a magic about them that should be left. So as of now, nothing of that sort.”

Thank God! We must say it is a very wise decision taken by the two, because after the super flop remakes of Himmatwala, Sholay and Umrao Jaan we are surely not in the mood to witness any more such disaster.

On the work front, Abhishek’s next Lefty is postponed as the film’s director Prabhudheva is more interested in directing Salman Khan‘s Dabangg 3. Aishwarya is also lined up with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanney Khan alongside Anil Kapoor.
