Here are Kabir Khan’s DEMANDS from Ranveer Singh!

Ranveer Singh has begun the process of getting into the skin of Kapil Dev to play him in the most inspiring underdog story that India has seen till date. As opposed to popular belief, the film is NOT a biopic as such but instead chronicles the Indian teams’ journey to their first ever Cricket World Cup win at the Lord’s ground in the June of 1983.

However, although Ranveer has begun prepping for it, it is director Kabir Khan who has a very specific requirement out of him.

Speaking about the same, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan helmer said, “Audience knows he is Ranveer and he is going to play the role of Kapil Dev in the film. Today, there is technology to make Ranveer look exactly like him, but that is not the attempt.”He needs to get the persona of Dev and yet retain his identity as Ranveer. We want the audience to see and enjoy Ranveer playing Dev,”

Talking about the kind of material that is in hand, he said, “there is lot of material, we have hours and hours of sessions with the cricketers (the players), so it is a gold mine of material.” The “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” helmer said the team would be majorly shot in London and they have the support of cricket authorities like the ICC and BCCI.”We will be shooting mostly in London, the whole story is what happened in London. We can’t shoot for seven-eight days at Lord’s, it is not possible. But we do have the permission in place to shoot there.”

Well, we agree that there should be enough and we must also have fun seeing Ranveer as Dev.

We hope that with 83 and his current under-production, The Forgotten Army, will help in him getting his mojo back post the debacle that he delivered in the name of Salman Khan‘s Tubelight.
