Dhadak: First look featuring Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter

Finally, Karan Johar has revealed the first look of Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khattar’s debut film Dhadak. The film is the official remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi film, Sairat directed by Nagraj Manjule.

The Hindi remake will be helmed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan.

Like the original film, Jhanvi will be seen playing a high-spirited, tom-boyish girl in the film. It will be set in Haryana and will go on the floors soon. The film is slated to hit the screens on 6th July 2018.

Earlier Sairat was remade in Punjabi and Telugu but both the films didn’t make an impact at the box office.

When Nagraj Manjule, was asked about it he said “I wouldn’t know why but it would be interesting to conduct a research on why films that do well in one language cannot get the same results in others,”

While speaking about Dhadak the director said: “I have no expectations from the film, only best wishes for the team.”
