Heres why Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli kept their wedding a secret

The power couple Anushka Sharma and the captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli finally tied the knot at a picturesque location in Italy on Monday. Looking at the pictures and videos of the wedding, it seemed to be nothing less than any Karan Johar movie.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli or popularly called as Virushka looked just perfect in their wedding pictures. The two are very popular in their respective fields and have a huge fan following. But since the start of their relationship, Anushka Sharma has always been mum about her personal life. Virat on various occasions had put forward his love for Anushka in front of everyone through social media.

Well for their wedding also the two had kept a huge suspense. Until the end, everyone was just guessing whether the two will get married or not.

The duo made headlines with a commercial for a traditional attire brand wherein they announced the marital vows for the new generation. Since then, the rumours of their impending wedding had been rife. Rumours of the two getting married flew high when Virat had said that he won’t be available for selection for a Test match and the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in December. The reason given by him was a personal one.

The second hint which added more fuel to the wedding rumours was when Anushka flew to Italy along with her parents and family priest Maharaj Anant Baba.

The reason why Anushka and Virat chose for a private affair was because they did not want any media interference in their wedding. Their wedding was also held in calm and composed place. The wedding took place at a countryside resort named Borgo Finocchieto. The property is located in a small village called Bibbiano – having a population of fewer than 100 people. It is in the Tuscany region of Italy.

Entry to the resort was strictly by invitation. Their wedding was also attended by only important family members and they were not even allowed to share the photos and the videos of the wedding until the official announcement was made.

Well unlike the wedding the two will have a grand reception in Mumbai and Delhi. The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on 21st December which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on 26th December.
