Can Shahid Kapoor be Bollywood’s next Sultan?
Post the success of Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor wasted no time at all in taking a deep dive into his next character for his next with Shree Narayan Singh, titled Batti Gul Meter Chaalu, a film in which Sasha is pitted opposite Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam.
But however, as per our Khabri Keeda, it was the success of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali epic drama that got to the man and it eventually cost him a film with his Jab We Met director, Imtiaz Ali, which broke the hearts of many who wished to see them come together again.
But, it might all end up being for a good reason as again, our Khabri Keeda has dropped a yet another exciting piece of news for you all!
He says that Shahid and Aiyaary director Neeraj Pandey, along with T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, have been playing catch-up for quite some time as the latter approached Kapoor with a script at the center of which is a boxer, which, you guessed it, Neeraj wants Shahid to play.
But, Sasha is reportedly in two minds of taking up the project in question or not. So, that being said, the ball is in Shahid’s court as of now.
Now, given that we have seen sports-based films such as the Salman Khan-starrer Sultan, Aamir Khan’s Dangal, Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkaabaaz and many other being made now more than ever, Shahid Kapoor’s Boxer flick, should it ever happen, will have to live up to quite a standard.
Also, given Mr. Pandey’s eye for catching scenic shots and knack of capturing the intensity of the situation in a frame, the boxer film might just turn out to be right up there with Sultan.
Considering if the news of him steering clear of the shoot schedules of his current film due to non-payment issues on the end of the producers is true, there might perhaps be no dates issue with the film, which is for some reason, giving us a vibe of the Hollywood film South Paw already. If you Google the film, you will probably understand what we mean.
We simply hope that the man takes up the project, provided it’s good!
Well, at the end of the day, let’s hope that he does a film which will make his second child proud of him as well!
