Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s first joint collaboration, Dear Zindagi, was indeed applauded by many, although it did not fare so well at in Indian box office. But, little did most of the folks know that one of Khan’s MOST underrated performances in a certain Mahesh Bhatt directorial titled Duplicate came about to be all because Bhatt Saab wanted to do something that his children, and a then 4-year-old Alia in particular, could watch.
Yes, you read that right! on the occasion of #ThrowbackThursday, we are about to bring you that one snippet from Bhatt Saab’s interview post the release of the film in question, which reveals as to why Bhatt, who was known for solely dark films such as Sadak, Arth and Zakhm to name a few, went on to do a double role comedy!
In an old interview, he was quoted, “Children are usually not always impressed with their parents. Chances are that I will impress my four-year-old girl, Alia with Duplicate.”
Adorable, isn’t it? Parents will surely relate with the need of impressing their little ones once in a while, and we are now convinced that Bhatt Sr., who would appear to be such a hard and tough soul from outside, is no exception to that rule either.
