Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan began their journey together with the 2012 hit movie Student Of The Year. They later went separate ways and carved out a niche for themselves in the industry. The actors are not only adored on screen but also off-screen for their sizzling chemistry.
Pay disparity among the male and female actors is one of the most heated debates in Bollywood. Talking about it during an interview to a leading daily, Varun gave an example of none other than his frequent co-star Alia and said, “Why has it taken the trade and the industry as a whole until a Raazi to realize that Alia Bhatt is a big star. Be it Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and even 2 States, all were hits and Alia Bhatt was just as responsible for its success as I was or Arjun was (Arjun Kapoor was the male lead in 2 States).”
He further added, “I would always tell Alia, what are you doing? You take very little money. Are you stupid? Increase your price.”
Well Varun, that was one really good advice for Alia!
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Sui Dhaaga: Made In India opposite Anushka Sharma. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar’s multi starrer Brahmastra along with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy.
