Varun Dhawan, who rose to fame with his debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the year, has never faced a single box office failure in his career. The actor’s current release Sui Dhaaga: Made In India, had also done well at the box office. But now it seems like Varun has got a tough competition at the box office and its from none other than Ayushmann Khurrana. According to the latest news, Ayushmann’s Badhaai Ho has beaten up the lifetime business of Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 (Rs 216.62 crore) domestically and internationally.
The film has now become the biggest hit of the year considering all small films like Raazi, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Stree. It is currently the sixth highest grosser of the year after Sanju, Padmaavat, Race 3, Baaghi 2 and Thugs of Hindostan. The movie has also performed well at the international markets apart from the domestic markets. It has already crossed the 200-crore mark and currently stands with the grand total of Rs 217 crore.
Talking about the great response, the actor was quoted saying to a daily, “It gives me more confidence that my script selection is right. I’ve always made my own decisions and selected a script on my own conviction. It’s a great validation and it’s a great boost to my confidence as far as choosing the scripts is concerned. “
