Recently the CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani had an objection with Shah Rukh Khan‘s upcoming movie Jab Harry Met Sejal for using the word intercourse in the second mini trailer. The trailer had Anushka Sharma handing over an ‘indemnity bond’ to Shah Rukh, saying there won’t be any legal ramifications if the couple ends up having intercourse.
According to Pahlaj Nihalani, the mini-trail was meant for digital consumption only. But he would clear t if he gets 1 lakh people voting in favour of the usage of the word. But there is a twist in the tale! The criteria to vote is to be at least 36-years-old and (it doesn’t stop there) be married.
When asked for Shah Rukh Khan‘s opinion about the whole episode, he told the media “I think I am below 18, so I cannot vote (laughs). On a serious note, neither I nor anyone in the film – Imtiaz, Irshad (lyricist Irshad Kamil) sahab, Pritam da or anyone would use any disrespectful word, that hurts a family or anyone’s sentiment. We are yet to send the film to the censors and they should watch the whole film to decide.”
Seems like it will be a tough task for SRK to clear his film with the CBFC.
