Barring the diehard fans of Sridevi, it wasn’t exactly common knowledge that apart from the fact that the late legend Sridevi was an actor par excellence, she was also right up there as a painter.
And now, we hear that it was her affinity for the art of painting (a thing that she and a certain Salman Khan have in common) and the love for humanity in general that led to Sridevi staying back in Dubai post the marriage of nephew Mohit Marwah and, well, you know the rest.
If reports are to be believed, Sridevi had extended her stay to attend a painting auction in Dubai, which was supposed to be for a noble cause.
A source revealed, “Sridevi has been painting for many years. It’s her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn’t agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her,”
Also, Sridevi HERSELF admitted to somewhat of a very special bond with Salman over the love for paining as she said in an interview that, “I have a few of his paintings, which he gifted me. We both made one painting together, which I think he has. He’s so creative and talented,”
Here is one of the few paintings that are about to be reportedly auctioned. Each piece is supposed to fetch anywhere between 8-10 lacs. This is a painting of Sonam Kapoor from her debut film, Saawariya.
Truly, her absence has created an unfillable void in the hearts of all.
