Ever since the unprecedented box office debacle of Simran, all eyes are waiting to catch a glimpse of Kangana Ranaut as the feisty Rani Laxmi Bai in the latter’s biopic known as Manikarnika. Everything that has to do with this epic drama, ranging from the first poster to the images that have surfaced of a regal-looking Ranaut from the sets of the film have us all excited for the film and how!
But, while we are getting restless for the epic drama to unfold in front of our eyes, a certain Varun Dhawan may not be too kicked about the release plans of Kangana’s most ambitious film till date.
Wondering why? Apparently, the makers of the film that has been directed by Krish and has been penned own by K.V Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame, is eyeing for a September 28th release instead of an August one as the makers were initially eyeing for a release during the Independence weekend owing to its patriotic theme, which they probably would have released it on had the film not been a VFX heavy project, which are always time consuming affairs. This would mean that Kangana Ranaut will be making a splash on the big screen alongside Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s next, Sui Dhaaga: Made In India.
Confirming the same, a source close to the development was quoted saying, “While the team was initially gearing up for a clash with Gold, the post-production process is taking longer than expected. Baahubali Franchise and Padmavaat have raised the bar of VFX in India, and we have to match up to the scale of those films.”
Oh well. Guess someone will have to look into a new release date. Who will it be?
