As reported by us a few months ago, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan will commence work on Rakesh Sharma’s biopic, Salute, by September; however, no confirmation regarding the same was made. But now, sources say the actor is indeed going to begin working on the film by that month. Currently busy with Aanand L. Rai’s Zero, which should be completed soon, Shah Rukh will completely focus on Salute.
It’s a well-known fact that Aamir Khan was supposed to star as Rakesh Sharma, but for reasons unknown, backed out of this biopic. Priyanka Chopra was also being considered as the leading lady but after Aamir’s exit, she also moved away from the project. Now, we had also reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan is the strongest contender for the role of the female lead; all we have to do is wait for an official announcement. If all goes well, Salute should hit the screens by 2019.
Directed by Mahesh Mathai, Salute promises to be grand on scale, huge on emotions and spectacular on VFX, as it narrates the fascinating tale of India’s first man on the moon, Rakesh Sharma.
On the work-front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for Zero, which is all set to release on the 21st of December, 2018.
