There’s a running joke that most of the actors wait for the festive seasons to release their films on those days, Eid waits for Salman Khan so that he can release his films on that day, Race 3 being the latest addition. Alas, the festival has some other plans for Bhai this year, it seems! Earlier, it was confirmed that Eid would fall on the 15th of June, 2018, that’s why the makers decided to release their film on that day, but there’s a twist in the tale.
The twist is that Eid is now likely to fall on June 16, a day after the film’s release. This twist can be quite a setback for the makers as the film’s collections may be affected due to the pre-Eid celebrations. Many Muslims across the country choose to spend time with family and close-friends and bring in the festival. Due to their reluctance in stepping out of their homes to watch a film, Bhai’s earlier films like Sultan and Tubelight have suffered. Sultan still managed to be a Blockbuster but Tubelight proved to be a commercial and critical disappointment.
Now the question is, how much would be the opening of Race 3? Will it be able to surpass the opening of Sultan (36.54 crores)? Will the buzz be affected due to the festival? Time to wait and watch!
