Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are three of the biggest stars of the 21st century. They are to Hindi Cinema in Modern Times what Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand were to the previous era. And all the three Khans continue to enjoy massive success and fan-following not only restricted to India but globally. We are not comparing the three of them but just had a random thought as to who has the maximum hits to their credit!
So, if we go back in time and count all the films they have been a part of, it seems Shah Rukh Khan leads the pack with 34 successful films to his credit. This is closely followed by Salman Khan who has 32. As far as Aamir Khan is concerned, he may have merely 21 successes but given his selective nature and that four year hiatus between Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005), the number is pretty impressive. After all, his repertoire is one of the most respected and admired ones. And it was he who started the so-called 100-crore club with Ghajini in 2008, the 200-crore club with 3 idiots in 2009 and the 300-crore club with PK in 2014.
But then it was Shah Rukh’s Chennai Express in 2013 that broke the record of 3 idiots and then came Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan that surpassed that SRK-starrer. All in all, records are meant to be broken and created, and the three Khans will always continue to rule the roost, despite facing failure at the movies!
