The MeToo movement, which gained momentum in India, isn’t going to die down anytime soon. As we all know, the former Housefull 4 director Sajid Khan was one among all the famous personalities in the Bollywood industry, who was accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of the movement. Simran Suri, Rachel White, Saloni Chopra, Priyanka Basu were some of the strong women who called him out for his actions.
As per the reports of a daily, Sajid was presented before the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on 31st October where the allegations against him were investigated. The filmmaker did not give an explanation, response or defence to the allegations against him. Though, he admitted that his behaviour and language towards women and men have been impolite, he did not accept that he has sexually molested the complainants. He also accepted that he has had sexual relations with women, but with their consent.
Now, the latest reports suggest that the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association IFTDA has suspended Sajid’s membership for one year following (ICC’s) recommendation. The membership will be reviewed again after a year.
