Race 3: Here’s how the Race franchise fared so far without Salman Khan!

The movie that many people, right from the industry waalas to the hard-core Bollywood bingers have been waiting for, the Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 has finally hit the screens today. Here, Khan would clearly be seen doing what he does best, which is beating the life out of the baddies while showcasing how stylish he can look while doing so.

While we are getting curious about what Race 3 will unleash on us, we are certain about one thing: This is going to be the BIGGEST blockbuster that has been delivered by Salman Khan till date. With a reported screen count of 6000, there are very high possibilities that, provided the film is liked by the audience, it could be the first Bollywood film to enter the 400 crore club!

But, before we get to see what the latest Salman Khan-starrer Eidi rakes in at the ticket windows, let’s look back at how the films that belong to the Race franchise performed when the “Sikander” of those races was Saif Ali Khan.

The two films (Race and Race 2) raked in 60.83 crores and 93.48 crores respectively. The first film, which released in 2008 had reportedly seen the light of day in 1300 screens back then while its sequel was screened across 4200 screens, owing to the success of the first film. If you adjust the figures for inflation, the two films ended their respective lifetime runs after raking in 102 and 112 crores respectively, which are the biggest hits that Saif has delivered till date. As of the current scenario, you can expect a Salman Khan film to mint the kind of cash that Race and its sequel have made together within a week of its release! Or, in the case of Race 3, maybe faster than that, as its release size alone is greater than that of Race and Race 2 combined.

However, we would like to know as to what are your expectations from Race 3’s box office earnings. So, feel free to let us know!
