For all those who didn’t know, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit were very close at one point of time and according to the grapevine of the 90’s, even wanted to get married. Alas, destiny dealt a cruel hand and Sanjay Dutt was embroiled in the 1993 Bombay Blasts case. The couple abruptly parted ways and their relationship went kaput.
Over 2 decades later, Sanjay Dutt’s roller-coaster ride makes its way to the silver screen in his biopic, Sanju. Now, according to reports, Madhuri Dixit’s reference has been edited from the final cut of the film, as the actress doesn’t want any unwanted controversy.
A source said, “Hirani had shot one scene where Ranbir as Sanjay Dutt makes a call to this 90s actress just when he is arrested. But the call is received by the actress’ mother who tells the actor that the lady doesn’t want any association with him and that henceforth he shouldn’t call her up. This was a fleeting reference to Madhuri Dixit. Dutt, when got arrested in 1993, was allowed to make a phone call by the then Police officer. Needless to say he had made it to Dixit, who disassociated herself from the man. This scene was retained in the film until the actress got to know. She again spoke to the director and insisted that no reference to her should be there in the movie. That is when Hirani edited this scene in the final cut of the movie.”
Now, after 21 years, both of them are set to reunite for Kalank, but rumors state that they won’t have a single scene together in the film!
