The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju, a biopic based on the uber-controversial superstar Sanjay Dutt, has set the Indian box office on fire like no other film has in the year 2018. Although the official numbers aren’t out as of now, we can safely say that the film, which stood on a humongous figure of 326 crores as of Thursday, could have possibly equaled the collections of Salman Khan’s biggest hit till date, Tiger Zinda Hai. Those numbers itself prove that the audience has warmed up and given their approval to the biographical drama.
All, but one Ram Gopal Varma, who expressed his disappointment after watching the film and promptly announced that he will make his own version of Sanju, which will talk about the 1993 bomb blasts and his possession of the AK-56 rifle, which are the topics that Raju Hirani did touch upon in his latest release. Varma said that he will title his version of the Sanjay Dutt biopic as Sanju: The Real Story
And now, Namrata Dutt, the younger sister to Dutt, has reacted to the same by saying, “It was an unfortunate episode in Sanjay’s life. He has moved past it. Why is Varma bringing up the past again?” She further added, ”His movies are dark. Why do you want to go on and on about Sanjay’s life? Why is he putting us through so much pain again? If Sanjay gives a go-ahead, we are nobody to say no to him.”
