After seeing the release and success of films like Baahubali 2 and Padmaavat, all eyes are on Kangana Ranaut’s undoubtedly biggest project till date, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and the Rajinikanth–Akshay Kumar-starrer 2.0, which has been in the post-production stage for quite some time now.
For the uninitiated, these two films have a somewhat of a history already. The team of Kangana Ranaut’s epic drama has initially decided to release their presentation on April 27th and then revised the same to August 15 with the hopes of making the most of the Independence Day weekend. But, at both these instances, the makers of the Krish directorial found themselves locking horns with Rajinikanth’s sci-fi drama.
So, it seems like in the light of this, if rumour mills are to be believed, Manikarnika won’t have a definite release date until and unless the team of 2.0 zeroes in on theirs.
On that topic, Kamal Jain, who is producing the Kangana Ranaut-starrer, shared, “We have mounted the movie on a scale that’s hard to imagine. We don’t want to clash or release too close to a film that can eat into our business. While we want to release the film between August and September, we haven’t zeroed in on a date yet.”
To which, he was quoted adding, “We haven’t, as of now. But buzz in the market is that they too are planning a release around September. So, we will wait and come to a consensus. Movies like Rani Laxmibai biopic are a one-time creation; we can’t afford to go wrong with it. So, rushing with dates is not a good idea.”
Well, we totally agree. What about you?
