Ankita Lokhande, best known as Archana from Zee TV’s popular daily soap Pavitra Rishta, is all set to mark her debut in Bollywood with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film is a biopic based on the warrior princess Rani Laxmibai. It will see Simran star Kangana Ranaut in the titular role, while Ankita will be seen playing the character of Jhalkari Bai, who was one of Laxmibai’s closest aides. Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, who essayed the role of Chimaji Appa in Bajirao Mastani, will be seen opposite the actress.
Talking about her experience working with Kangana, the actress was quoted saying, “She was like the real Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi for us. She comforted us all. There is a lot to learn from her.”
Well, we do know now that she is the real Rani Laxmibai. Now, let’s see as to what is she like on-screen!
Manikarnika, apart from Miss Ranaut and Lokhande, will also see Sonu Sood, Atul Kulkarni and Jissu Sengupta in pivotal roles. The teaser of the Krish directorial will be released sometime in Independence week of next month.
