Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 is unquestionably one of the most awaited films of 2018. The teaser showed some of the most spectacular and never-seen-before visual effects on the big screen, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. However, fans of Kumar were a tad bit disappointed to see his blink-and-miss appearance in that two-minute clip. Keeping the criticism in mind, the makers have now decided to focus more on him than Rajinikanth in the trailer.
And as far as the release date of the trailer is concerned, it may be out on the 3rd of November. The film is all set to release on the 29th of November. And not only that, all the rumors regarding the film’s budget being 543 crores have been refuted by the team. A source close to the film says, “It not all the ridiculous figures being thrown around by people who have no idea such things. The actual overall budget of 2.0 is Rs 400 crores, and that too after all the VFX being done all over again, since the original VFX were of very poor quality. Also, the film is far more expensive than the usual 3D films in India. Most films in this country using that format are first shot in 2D and then converted to 3D. 2.0 was shot in 3D.”
The film has already recovered 80 crores of its mammoth budget through the satellite rights. The same source adds, “Recovery of investment won’t be as difficult for us as is being made out to be. Yes, 2.0 is an expensive film. But every penny is justified.”
